The collaboration with French in-mail order catalog Les 3 SUISSES took off last month celebrating women around the world hand in hand with UNRIC. Et voila! The Design Indaba closed its doors on the 27th of February and what a grand gathering it was! GIVE IT BAG was proudly on the Cape Town Tourism stand, with Les 3 Suisses and the Collection Malunga at the CTFC multi-talents exhibition and in the Craft alley where we received incredible feedback and support from GIVE IT BAG long-time lovers, new comers, TV journalists, magazines and curious wanderers (http://www.xymara.com/index/events/Reviews/23543/design-indaba-expo-review.htm). It was a warm night in Cape Town. And it was even warmer at Zula Bar, Long Street. The place was jammed and the stage was set. High heels, cool hoodies, baggy pants and skinny tiny skirts crowded the room. Blacks, whites and coloured faces, laughter, hip-moves and wild kisses, everybody was waiting for the live music to start. Blu & Exile from Los Angeles, landed in the Mother City for one night of absolute Hip Hop music. In first part of the concert, a South African Hip Hop celebrity, Mingus (a.k.a. X the 24th Letter) walked on stage, a GIVE IT BAG Red Horse on his side, ready to heat up the show. And Oh Boy, he did! With his amazing energy, strong writing, a voice impeccably singing his frustrations and views on life, Mingus absolutely rocked the room. On stage, behind the mic, there was an incredible artist and his rather stunning GIVE IT BAG!

The Design Indaba 2009 in Cape Town was the platform to launch our new photo campaign which was shoot by local photographer Casey Bertie.
We shoot in specifically chosen sites in and around Cape Town and casted our models on the street, looking for unsual, unique, individual characters which mirror the attributes of our bags. We would like to thank all special people who were chosen and also Francien van Eck (Production) and Nici Watson (Styling).
